2019 is here already! I know 2018 seemed to go by in a flash! For those of you who are considering a remodel or a redecorate, we have compiled a list of the best new – and here to stay – trends for 2019 decor!
GO GREEN (BIOPHILIC)
In 2019 décor trends, the focus is moving from tech obsessed décor to fresh, natural looks and materials such as wood floors, stone, concrete and granite. It’s all about bringing the outside IN. Daylight and plant life are two big aspects of this growing trend. These elements will help bring a serene ambiance to any space.How do I add some natural elements to my home?
- Incorporate plants with patterned leaves (even a fake plant will do!)
- Update your accent pieces such as lights, pulls and baskets with brass, granite and wicker options.
- Incorporate nature sounds. A water feature is a great idea, but if that wont work, go for a recording of sounds such as bird calls, waterfalls, rain etc.
- Open those blinds and curtains! Let the sunshine in! Not only will this help incorporate this natural element, it will help your plants and provide you with a healthy dose of vitamin D!
THE COLOR OF THE YEAR
The Pantone color of the year for 2019 decor is Living Coral. This is a bright, fun color that can be used in a multitude of ways. Accent walls, accessories, art, area rugs… this color really brings a POP to any space! Not only that, but it works well in most rooms and pairs nicely with a plethora of other color palettes.
FEMININE TONES
If you think ‘Rose Gold’ was big last year, just you wait – it’s not going anywhere in 2019! Soft, feminine tones and elegant classy spaces are going to be taking over. Think blush, dusty pink and bronze.Metallics have been on trend for the last couple years, but we see Rose Gold taking over in the home this year. A touch of gold or copper instantly adds a touch of class to any room. You can go all out with an accent wall, or just add a bit of spray paint to a thrifted item!
FLORAL FABRICS AND WALLPAPERS
This traditional pattern will be THE pattern to use in 2019 décor. While this isn’t a brand new idea, we will start to see floral fabrics in a whole new light. Exaggerated proportions and contrasting colors are a major switch decorators are expecting to see this year.

For 2019 décor you can expect to see bold, high contrast designs as black matte moves from fashion and beauty to homewares and interiors. For the kitchens in 2019 – expect to see a pop of color in these spaces! Simple kitchens are a thing of the past. People are incorporating bolder color choices and graphic tile designs. What better way to add your own touch than with a bright backsplash? Stand out and make an impact, without making it look overly busy by incorporating a tile backsplash into your design. WARMER & DARKER COUNTERTOPS
